Red Dress Day – Edmonton

Red Dress Day – May 5
Date: Sunday May 5, 2019
Time: 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Location: Red Dress Day will begin with a MMIP (Missing & Murdered Indigenous Peoples) Awareness Walk starting at 1:00 PM at the south corner of Canada Place (9700 Jasper Avenue & 97 Street to Amiskwaskahegan – Beaver Hills House Park (10440 – Jasper Avenue).

The main event will be taking place at Amiskwaskahegan – Beaver Hills House Park (10440 – Jasper Avenue) ending at 5:00 PM.

What: Families and members of the public are asked to join us in solidarity by wearing a red dress or t-shirt (and/or) display a red dress or t-shirt in this public place to honor our missing & murdered loved ones. We will adorn the park in RED to commemorate and honor our MMIWGMB (Missing & Murdered Indigenous Women Girls Men Boys) through CEREMONY for National Red Dress Day (May 5th). We want to show that we have not and will never forget our stolen Sisters and Brothers.

MMIP RED Ceremony: Red Dresses and Red T-Shirts displayed in honor.
Open Mic: We will have an open mic for Families, Survivors and Supporters to share their stories.
Speakers: MMIP Family Members, Survivors and Advocates
