Community Viewing Party: SHIELD Indigenous Youth Video Project
Please join us for the free Community Viewing Party of the SHIELD Indigenous Youth Video Project on Saturday, January 11 from 6-8pm at the HVGB College of the North Atlantic in Room 249!
We will be premiering 6 inspirational short films on “What being Indigenous means to Me” from youth storytellers Raine Hart, Mckenzie Dyson, Philip Snow, Rebecca Blake, Jackson Obed & Samantha Newman. Our filmmaker John Gaudi worked closely with them & SHIELD Coordinator Denise Cole to capture these stories in a powerful way.
You will also have a chance to chat with our storytellers, filmmaker & project leads as we’ll be celebrating after the films in Room 106 with refreshments.
Thank you & for more info, contact Denise at 896-8302 ext 224
This project has been made possible with financial support from the National Centre for Collaboration on Indigenous Education (NCCIE), sponsored by the Labrador Friendship Centre. We are co-hosting this event with the Labrador Institute. Special thanks to the youth, John Gaudi, and all who’ve helped make this project a reality.
