20th Annual John Arcand Fiddle Fest
Box 3 Site 302 RR3 Saskatoon, Saskatchewan S7K3J6
The John Arcand Fiddle Fest is a full weekend of family friendly, affordable fun. A one time gate fee of $60 for a weekend pass and $25 for a Day pass (12 and under FREE) gives you complete access to workshops, concerts, showcases, competitions, old time dances, Métis Cultural Camp and more. There’s free shuttle service from four city locations, free un-serviced camping, an on-site concession and a large children’s activity area.
The Fiddle Fest has created a space in which intergenerational learning and exchanges occur by offering hands-on education in fiddle, guitar, jigging, and Métis art forms geared to all-age audiences. Workshops are enthusiastically delivered by Elders and veterans of their fields, circulating skills and the importance and joy related to the activities. The daytime programming, evening concerts, showcases and old time dances offer quality live entertainment delivered by emerging and professional musicians and offer a diverse range of genres.
Our festival is widely acclaimed for its quality instruction, family-like atmosphere and culturally diverse artistic presentations. It is also highly regarded for its seemingly magical powers to dissolve the cultural barriers that sometimes interfere with harmony in day to day life. Participants and audience come from a variety of ancestries from all over Saskatchewan, Canada and even the United States. Once at the Fiddle Fest, they become one nation and one community – all united around music, dance, and fun.
